Why subscribe?

The Floyd Forum is, for now, a venture of former Floyd Press editor Ashley Spinks Dugan to continue providing valuable service journalism out of Floyd County and the broader New River Valley. Subscribing keeps you up-to-date on happenings at local government meetings, including the Floyd County Board of Supervisors and the Floyd Town Council.

This online format gives me new flexibility and freedom to post on my schedule. Editions of the newsletter will come out, at minimum, once a week, but coverage of meetings will be delivered to your inbox less than 24 hours after the meeting occurs.

Thoughtful, useful local journalism is foundational to an engaged and productive community. This newsletter will seek to provide updates on how public officials are spending their time and your tax dollars, as well as actionable information about what’s happening in the coming days. What events should you attend? What local organizations need your support? How are the needs of our community being prioritized and how can you influence decisions or projects that are important to you?
